For our client which opens a new office in Bucharest covering Eastern Europe Region, we are looking for a Financial Controller.
Your new role
The role will have a start-up feel and be responsible for the financial control and results of the legal entities that fall within the Region.
- Lead and coordinate the month end close process to Group Finance timetable;
- Support preparation of monthly P&L and Balance sheet submissions: timely accounting of revenues and cost, maintain right level of accruals, balance sheet reconciliation to P&L, accounts payable and accounts receivable reconciliations
- Prepare and submit annual Budget plans and quarterly financial forecasts
- Building business cases to support investment opportunities in the region
- Support Group Finance with Credit risk assessment of customers and partners
- Prepare monthly Board Packs for the Local SLT and Group CEO and CFO
- Prepare and submit annual Budget plans and quarterly financial forecasts
- Work with local tax advisors to ensure compliant, timely and accurate CT/income tax and VAT submissions
- Support Group Finance with weekly cash flow planning analysis
- Lead year end preparation and submission of financial statements to local authorities
- Be the key contact to local tax authorities and external auditors
What you'll need to succeed
- A recognised accountancy qualification, CECCAR, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Solid foundation in accounting (IFRS)
- Having the experience of implementing/rolling out an ERP system would be advantageous
- Experience with VAT relating to the movement of goods within and the EU and Non EU would be beneficial
- Strong knowledge and experience in using accounting and reporting software (e.g. SAP/ Microsoft Dynamics)
- Strong Excel skills (especially pivot tables / vlookup functionality)
